My Online drum recording service
advantages:
Sometimes budget, geography and time restrictions can get in the way of a fast and affordable recording session. In those cases a producer can reach for programmed drums and loops instead of live recorded drums. Thanks to the online drum recording concept you can get a real drummer, playing real drums on your recordings.
Booking a studio, an engineer and a drummer can lead to serious planning issues. Working online is the ‘all in one’ solution.
I have access to all my new and vintage drum gear, my vast collection of new and vintage microphones, high end pre’s and top of the line interface (you can check out my gear page here).
How does it work?
You contact me and we get in touch to have a chat about your project. I’ll ask you some questions to see where we are going with your song. We agree on a price and when you want my work to be done.
You send me a stereo track of your recording without drums (recorded to a click track) and maybe a stereo track with loops or programmed drums. Often a reference track helps to get an idea of the drum sound and style you are after.
I get to work and keep you informed of the progress with bounced mp3’s. This way you can be involved in the creative process and together we can find the best possible result.
I offer raw tracks (as recorded), rough mixed tracks or complete mixes. On this we will have agreed in advance.
I want to be absolutely sure that you are happy with the results, so revisions are included in the price.
When all drum recordings are done and revised, I will send you an invoice and a link to my Paypal account. Once I’ve received the money, I send all wav’s of the tracks, stems, samples, alternate takes,… as agreed.
As you can see, this is a very flexible, cost effective way of recording. I hope to hear from you and get to work on your project.

BIO
Being born in the late seventies…
I became ‘musically conscious’ by the late eighties. When I started playing the drums at the age of 11, my musical inspiration came from bands like AC/DC and Lenny Kravitz.
As an adolescent in the nineties, I upped my game by playing Grunge records for hours on end in my parents’ basement.
At the age of 14 my older brother’s coverband needed a new drummer. This opportunity launched me into my first live gigs and rehearsals.
Lessons at the local community music school and some private lessons motivated me to pursue an education in music at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and the Conservatory of Rotterdam, majoring in Jazz, but still playing rock and pop music.
At the age of 19 I started giving private lessons at Hasselt’s Muziekodroom. At first to earn some extra ‘cash for gear’, but it soon became apparent that teaching was a second calling. In 2009 I started teaching drums and drum technique at PXL MUSIC University College.
Throughout my twenties and thirties I was blessed to build a career as a professional drummer and educator.
Now, in my forties I’ve decided to add another interest of mine to my professional endeavours: online drum recording.
In my twenty+ year career as a live player and recording artist, I’ve acquired a good idea about how to record drums. We all know recording budgets are not what they used to be. Everybody’s got a 1 or 2 track digital interface to record music and make a record. But recording drums is a bit more difficult: you need more mics, preamps, …
That’s why I decided to build a home studio, dedicated to recording drums, with class A pre’s, mics, speakers and conversion and a vast collection of vintage and new drumkits.
And of course: 20+ years of experience.
